Nebraska’s unemployment rate held steady in December at 4.1%. Iowa, on the other had, saw improvement. The unemployment rate in the Hawkeye state fell from 5.7% in November to 5.6% in December.
Figures for both states were announced Tuesday. The national unemployment rate for December was previously announced at 8.5%.
When you break it down to areas of each state, Omaha’s unemployment rate for December jumped from 4.1% to 4.7%
Lincoln’s unemployment rate also climbed from 3.2% to 3.6%.
The unemployment rate for Council Bluffs increased as well from 4.5% to 5.3% during the same period.
