Nebraska tax collections came in lower than expected during the first month of the state's new fiscal year.
The state reported Wednesday that net tax receipts for July totaled $200 million, which is $11 million shy of earlier projections.
That's 5 percent less than what the state had expected
Net tax receipts from individuals came in nearly 20 percent below what the state had projected.
The comparisons are based on a revised April forecast made by the Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board.
The forecast was adjusted in July to account for new laws passed during this year's legislative session.
