A new report from a real estate data research firm says Nebraska had one of the lowest foreclosure rates in the nation in 2011.
CoreLogic says one percent of Nebraska homes were in the foreclosure process at the end of last year, the fourth-lowest rate in the United States behind Alaska, North Dakota and Wyoming. Iowa placed 23rd.
The five states with the highest foreclosure inventory were Florida, New Jersey, Illinois, Nevada and New York.
CoreLogic says the national foreclosure rate was 3.4 percent at the end of last year because 1.4 million homes were involved in the foreclosure process.
