The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission soon will set its procedure for finding a new director.
The commission has scheduled a meeting for Thursday in Lincoln.
The commission is faced with replacing Rex Amack, who said Monday that he intends to retire in April after leading the agency for 24 years.
A news release from the commission says the meeting is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at commission headquarters in Lincoln. The release says that because the meeting's main purpose is establishing a procedure to hire the next commission director, the commissioners will be in closed session for personnel matters for most of the meeting.
