The Nebraska Cornhuskers Monday announced some changes in the football schedules for future seasons. They include match-ups against Oregon in 2016 and 2017.

Those games will push planned games against Tennessee to the year 2026 and 2027, which means the starting quarterback for the Huskers could very well be in the first grade right now. Still, it’s too soon to talk about a starting line up.

Anyway, back to the schedule changes. The 2016 game with Oregon will be in Lincoln September 17. Nebraska will travel to Oregon September 9, 2017.

In a statement, Husker Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst said, “This is a win-win scenario. The University of Tennessee asked for scheduling relief and we were able to add the University of Oregon, a perennial top-25 program, to our non-conference schedule as we roll into the College Football Playoff era. This should be a great series, not only for our football programs, but for the tremendous fans of both schools.”

The 2016 game with Oregon means the match up with Wyoming will be moved to September 10 in Lincoln. The game will complete a three-game series with the Cowboys.
