Nebraska Science Cafe To Focus On Medical Physics

An upcoming Omaha Science Cafe event will focus on radiation and the role it plays in people's lives.

Medical physicist Brian Hill will give a brief overview of the field at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Slowdown in Omaha.

Hill is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in therapeutic radiologic physics. He has worked for eight years at Jaeger Corporation, a company that provides radiation oncology services in Omaha.

Science Cafe is a free educational event sponsored by the University of Nebraska Medical Center and other groups. They're held on the first Tuesday of each month, and one Thursday every other month in Lincoln. They are open to anyone 21 and older.

The Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures will provide free pizza to the first 50 people.
