A legislative panel charged with reviewing Nebraska's tax code is set to meet at the Capitol.
The Tax Modernization Committee will meet Wednesday at 10 a.m. to continue its work on a comprehensive study of Nebraska tax policy. The committee was created earlier this year to see whether changes are needed, and report back to the Legislature.
The meeting will focus on Nebraska's sales tax. It will include a presentation by John Mikesell, an Indiana University professor who specializes in tax policy.
Lawmakers are expected to hold public input sessions in different parts of the state later in the year, but aren't expected to hear public testimony on Wednesday.
A live-stream of that meeting can be seen by clicking here.
