The Union Pacific Railroad Museum in Council Bluffs welcomed its 200,000th visitor on Wednesday.
J. P. Jeffrey, a resident of Omaha who had never visited the Union Pacific Railroad Museum, decided to bring his son and daughter-in-law to the museum while they were visiting from Wyoming.
Little did he suspect that he was to be the museum’s 200,000 visitor.
In celebration of this event, Jeffrey received a model Union Pacific #65 Gas Turbine locomotive, a Union Pacific Railroad Museum conductor membership for one year, and a gift basket containing a variety of gifts.
Since opening in 2003, guests from all 50 states and all over the world - representing more than 70 countries - have visited the museum at 200 Pearl Street in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
