Omaha City Council member Tom Mulligan has announced his plans to run for another term.
Mulligan officially kicked off his campaign at the Remington Heights Retirement Community near 120th and West Dodge Monday morning.
Mulligan has been representing District 7 on the council since 2010. He is currently the city council president.
He tells Channel 6 News that he is proud of what the council has accomplished recently in dealing with the city's police and fire pension problems.
"We did a realistic assessment of Omaha's finances and reacted accordingly," Mulligan said. "And I know that is going to prove to be long-term solution for the city of Omaha."
Omaha's primary election is Tuesday, April 2nd. The general election is May 14th.
