Mountain Lion Hunting Licenses Available

The state of Nebraska is ready to accept applications to hunt mountain lions in the Pine Ridge area. Nebraska Game & Parks will accept applications September 3 through September 30.

The first person drawn will be issued a permit for Season 1 or Season 2. The next 100 people drawn will be issued permits for Season 2.

Season 1 runs January 1 through February 14. Season 2 runs February 15 through March 31.

The application fee is $15. Apply at Nebraska Game and Parks Commission permitting offices by clicking THIS link.

The commission established four units for hunting mountain lions. They are Pine Ridge in the northern Nebraska Panhandle, Keya Paha in the southern Panhandle, Upper Platte in north-central Nebraska and Prairie, which covers much of the rest of the state.
