An Omaha man was hospitalized in critical condition after his motorcycle hit a pickup that had turned into his path Saturday afternoon.
Police say 49-year-old Ken Kocanda was riding westbound on Pacific Street just before 6 p.m. when he moved from behind the truck in the right lane over to the left lane. The driver of the pickup then tried to make a U-turn from the right lane just west of 72nd Street and Kocanda struck the side of the truck.
He was taken to Creighton University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Kocanda was wearing a helmet. The driver of the pickup was not hurt.
The accident remains under investigation.
