More animal cruelty charges could be leveled against a Fremont couple.
Seven dogs were found in pet carriers inside a storage unit rented by 56-year-old Daniel Newcomer and his wife, 46-year-old Ellyn, who already faced two felony counts and 11 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty after nine dogs, three cats and a potbellied pig were found in their home. The house has since been condemned and demolished.
Investigators say the dogs found Tuesday are expected to survive.
