There’s more two-way traffic in Farnam Street’s future. The longtime, one-way street began a gradual transition about five years ago and the wheels are in motion to continue the trend.

The first part of the conversion to two-way came in the stretch past Midtown Crossing.

The plan now calls for extending the two-way status another six blocks west to 42nd Street.

The city council has put the plan in motion. Details still need to be worked out.

Business owners in the area have mixed feelings. Phil Doerr is one of them and he said, “The way they rerouted the traffic on it they are going to take our parking lot or our parking in front of the building. So that's going to be, that's not going to help us out obviously."

Farnam House Brewing Company says they hope the project makes the area more pedestrian friendly for customers.

There will be a public hearing August 12th and a vote is scheduled on the 19th.
