More Americans are expected to hit the road this year over the Labor Day holiday weekend because consumers are feeling better about the economy.

AAA predicts that the number of people traveling over Labor Day will grow about 4 percent to 34.1 million this year. About 85 percent of those people will be traveling by car.

AAA Nebraska spokeswoman Rose White says anyone thinking about traveling in Nebraska can get ideas of what to see on VisitNebraska.com and OutdoorNebraska.org.

White says those state websites list dozens of community celebrations, fairs and outdoor events Nebraskans might want to visit.
