The auditor in Monona County is facing drug charges after arranging to buy meth from a state trooper posing as a dealer.
Twenty-seven-year-old Brooke Kuhlmann was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
According to investigators, Kuhlmann was retrieving a quantity of methamphetamine after unknowingly scheduling a purchase and pick-up with a State Trooper who had seized a dealer’s phone on Sunday, July 28, 2013.
Shortly after Kuhlmann picked up the drugs, Onawa police pulled her over and she was taken into custody for questioning.
After her arrest, Kuhlmann was released from custody on a promise to appear.
Ms. Kuhlmann currently serves as the Monona County Auditor.
