A home in northwest Omaha was destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon.
It was reported just after 12 p.m. at the Park Meadows mobile home community near 110th and Ida streets.
A neighbor told Channel 6 News he heard crackling and popping, then looked outside, saw the fire and called 911. By the time he went outside, the middle of the home was fully engulfed in flames.
The neighbor said a woman and her teenage grandson had lived in the home for only two weeks and she had left a short time before the fire broke out. No one else was home at the time, though two cats are missing.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
