Sixteen-year-old Michaela Wells, the Bellevue girl reported missing Monday, was found safe at a residence in Indianapolis Thursday night and is now in police custody.
According to Bellevue Police, they learned Michaela may have left the state during the course of their investigation. The FBI was notified.
At 8:20 p.m. Thursday, FBI agents in Indianapolis found Michaela, safe, inside a home with a male juvenile. Michaela was taken into police custody and her parents were notified by Bellevue police at 8:35 p.m.
Investigators said Michaela indicated that she left Bellevue on her own accord and was not taken against her will. Police have not yet identified the male juvenile she was with or released information about how the two were acquainted.
Michaela had last been seen Sunday night at her grandmother's home at 36th and Highway 370. Her mother told WOWT 6 News Michaela took the trash out around 8:30 p.m. and never returned.
