The desperate search for a missing 5-year-old Omaha boy with autism had a happy, if somewhat confusing, resolution Wednesday morning.
Police dispatchers were asked to broadcast every 30 minutes details on a missing boy. An investigating officer said the boy had been put on a bus at 42nd & Erskine before 9 a.m. but that the boy had never turned up at school.
The incident immediately triggered a flood of tweets, text messages and news reports.
The principal at Dodge Elementary School says it was all a misunderstanding. The school official said the boy was located at school but didn't provide additional details.
