Parts of the Midwest are in the cross-hairs of winter. Near-blizzard conditions are taking shape in a powerful storm that will tumble through Saturday night into Sunday.
Winter Storm Watches and Blizzard Watches have been issued.
Northwestern Nebraska, most of South Dakota, Southeastern North Dakota, and the northern two-thirds of Minnesota have the potential to receive five to 10 inches of snow Saturday night and Sunday.
In addition to heavy snow, the winds will occasionally gust to 45 mph making for dangerous travel conditions.
