Showers will develop ahead of a cold front on Wednesday evening. Wet weather first forms across northern Kansas. Showers will then track northeastward across southern Nebraska, southern Iowa, and northwest Missouri beginning after 7 p.m. The better chance for showers in the metro is after 9 p.m.
The moisture only grazes the metro and amounts will be light. Generally around .10" or less of rain is expected. Heavier amounts will occur near the Kansas and Missouri line where showers grow upscale into storms.
Severe weather is not expected with any storm that develops overnight. The rain should exit the metro no later than 6am Thursday.
