Man's Date With Woman Turns Into Scam, Robbery At Gunpoint

An Omaha man is shaken up after being robbed in his own apartment.

It happened Friday night when he invited a woman over for dinner, but quickly found she was part of a scheme.

A friend had introduced the two to each other.

Jeromy Wilson, the victim in the case, says the only thing hurt is is pride.

When Wilson invited the woman, who he is not identifying, over for dinner, things took an unexpected turn.

Wilson and the woman were in one room, when he says, she began her plan.

"She started acting pretty funny, just like she kept coming out here. Her phone was out here," he says.

Wilson says she used that excuse to sneak away and let two intruders in through the front door.

"It went by so fast, and I have a gun in my face," says Wilson.

The men told him to lie on the ground.

They demanded money, which he didn't have, so they went through his belongings, taking a Playstation 3 and games, his laptop, phone, and keys.

That wasn't the end though.

The man with the gun started smashing things like wine glasses, art on his walls, and his TV.

"He said to me, 'Well you don't need this (expletive).' He pounded that three times. He pounded my TV three times with the butt of his gun," Wilson says.

The two men and the woman left together.

Wilson remained with his apartment in shambles.

Somehow though, he's managing to stay positive.

"You may not be happy about the situation, but know that there's a brighter day, that things will always work out for the best," Wilson says.

Police haven't made any arrests in this case yet, but Wilson believes he could have some good leads.

He says he keeps serial numbers for all of his equipment, and has a good description of all of the suspects.
