A Lincoln man has been cited by police after they say he tried to ship a small amount of marijuana, along with some food, through FedEx.

Published reports reveal that a FedEx employee called police after she smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the shoebox that was being shipped to Springfield, Mo.

Police say Patrick Cryne dropped the package off Tuesday
afternoon.

A police dog indicated drugs were inside the box and police opened it to find 18.6 grams of marijuana and some food, including macaroni and cheese, candy, gum and canned fruit.

Cryne was cited for possession of marijuana and released. A telephone listing for Cryne could not be found.
