A man who owns a cleaning company believes at least one of his employees should work for free.
According to police reports, a 41-year-old woman called police to report that she was paid with a bogus check.
It happened in early November, the woman says she worked for the cleaning business for one week and received a check for $522.
She told police, when she tried to cash the check at two check cashing services she was told the check wouldn’t clear due to insufficient funds.
She claims the man told her “I don’t owe you that money anyway” and “you all are the ones that were stupid…I don’t have to pay you. They (police) aren’t going to do anything to me.”
The woman says she called the Douglas County Attorney’s office and was told they were aware the man was passing bad checks.
No word on any arrests.
