A man just released from prison has been taken into custody on a felony warrant, however, sources tell Channel 6 News he is being questioned in connection to the murder of Andrea Kruger.
Twenty-six-year-old Nikko Jenkins was arrested in Omaha Thursday night on an unrelated warrant. He was released from prison on July 30th after serving nine years for robbery and is one of a number of suspects the Douglas County Sheriff's Department is looking at.
Omaha police stopped Jenkins' sister, Erica Jenkins, Thursday afternoon near Budget Rent-A-Car on Abbott Drive and arrested her for felony criminal mischief out of Sarpy County. She too will be questioned in connection to the murder.
Nikko Jenkins was arrested around 8 p.m. Thursday at the Tudor Apartments, in the area of 108th and W. Maple. That arrest was based on a complaint filed on Wednesday, August 28
Sources say that investigators are looking at whether the bullets that killed Kruger match those in the murders of Curtis Bradford who was shot at 18th and Clark, as well as, the murders of 29-year-old Jorge Cajiga-Ruiz and 26-year-old Juan Uribe-Pena in Spring Lake Park. Kruger's body was found on August 21st at 168th and Fort Street. She had been shot five times.
Later the same day, her stolen car was found at 43rd and Charles Street. Investigators have said it appears that someone did a poor job of trying to set the vehicle on fire.
