A man, who police say is a known gang member, is now facing charges for assaulting an officer after a traffic stop in downtown Omaha

Just after midnight Sunday morning, 23-year-old Antonio Minor was in a white Dodge Magnum that was pulled over at 12th and Capitol when the officer witnessed a passenger trying to hide an open bottle of alcohol.

After a search of the vehicle, the officer found a stolen gun. Then during the arrest, police say Minor spit in the officer's face. Minor was booked for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, assault of an officer/bodily fluid, and open container.

A second person in the car, 24-year-old Tyrell Carter, was also cited for open container.
