A Sarpy County man who claimed a baby he was caring for was burned by an electric blanket has been sentenced to one year in prison for child abuse.
David Coleman will get credit for 63 days served already. He will also pay more than $1,000 in fines. Last February, a 6-month-old boy suffered severe burns and a broken leg. His mother, Starr Manza, is also serving time in this case.
Coleman is a registered sex offender who was convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a child in 2004. He has previously served prison time for a sex crime against a minor, burglary, drug possession and domestic assault.
