An Omaha man already out on bond in Douglas and Sarpy counties was arrested Saturday morning for driving a stolen car and drug possession.
Police say an officer spotted the stolen Hyundai Sonata heading westbound on L Street and turn northbound onto 84th Street around 10:20 a.m. He briefly lost sight of the vehicle due to traffic, but the car was found abandoned behind the Wendy’s restaurant at 84th and G streets.
Twenty-three-year-old Brandon Bergmann was taken into custody in a parking lot south of the restaurant. He faces charges that include possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by receiving.
Bergmann was out on bond from Sarpy County for possession of a gun by a prohibited person and possession of burglary tools. He was also out on bond from Douglas County on a previous theft by receiving charge.
