The Washington County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that a motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a deer Thursday morning.
It happened on Highway 75 near Nashville, north of Omaha, around 6 a.m. According to the sheriff's department, 45-year-old George Davis Jr. was northbound on Highway 75 when he hit a deer and lost control of his motorcycle. He crossed the southbound lane of traffic and hit a guard rail. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies closed Highway 75 in both directions for more than two hours to clear away the wreckage.
