Driver Hospitalized, Ticketed After SUV Flips
A Blair man was hospitalized after an accident in Omaha Saturday night.
Police say a Ford Explorer was speeding northbound on 72nd Street when the driver tried to change lanes, clipped another SUV and lost control near Burt Street around 7:45 p.m. The Explorer went off the road and rolled, tumbling down an embankment north of the Crossroads Mall.
The driver, Mark Nickel, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital with facial injuries. Nickel was ticketed for DUI, driving during suspension and negligent driving.
