One man's quick actions helped officers track down a suspect rapist.
An Omaha Police report Channel Six obtained Sunday lays out an assault that investigators say happened outside a home late Tuesday night.
A 63-year-old man was taking out the trash at his home near 15th & Locust when he heard a woman screaming for help.
He went to see what was wrong and found a man punching a 38-year-old woman.
The man raced inside, called 911 and then went back outside, following the fleeing suspect until officers arrived.
When police made it to the scene, the hysterical victim told an officer she had been raped.
Officers arrested Alfonso Carmona, 52, for the crime. He has been charged with 1st degree sexual assault.
Carmona is set to appear in court later this month.
Bond has been set at 10% of $500,000.
