A Fremont man has been arrested, accused in a massive and long-running embezzlement scheme.
Dennis D. Hesman, 66, faces ten counts of Theft by Deception and one count of Criminal Conspiracy. Each charge is a felony.
Hesman used to work at Gavilon Grain. Management there reached out to Fremont Police after discovery issues with documents - post Hesman's retirement.
Police say Hesman had falsified documents while working for the company between 2007 and 2013. During that time frame, they believe he used those documents to steal almost $2.5 million dollars.
Police say other people may be charged in the case. The FBI is investigating the possibility of federal charges.
