The John Atkinson Lung Cancer Foundation will host the 4th annual Rock to Raise fundraiser on November 17th to raise money for scholarships for students who lost a parent to lung cancer and help start a new student empowerment program.
WHERE: St. Nicholas Community Center, 5050 Harrison Street, Omaha
WHEN: Saturday, November 17, 2012 7:00 p.m.
Rock to the sounds of The Personics band, enjoy appetizers, cocktails, and a silent auction. John Atkinson was an Omaha man and nonsmoker who lost his battle with lung cancer in June 2009. The foundation will hold a fundraiser to carry out John’s legacy and provide scholarships to children who have lost a parent to lung cancer.
As always, the proceeds from this event will provide scholarships to children who’ve lost a parent to lung cancer. In addition, the event will help start our new student empowerment program with a Washington DC based partner, Lung Cancer Alliance. This new empowerment program will teach our scholarship winners how one person really can make a difference while they represent their lost parent to their Senator or Congressperson on Capitol Hill.
