Lancaster County Treasurer Andy Stebbing is reminding residents of Lincoln the city wheel tax increases September 1st.
That means an additional $5 for cars, $2.50 for motorcycles and $7.50 for pick-up trucks. Large commercial trucks of eight tons or more will increase by $25. The rate for cars goes from $64 a year to $69.
“I want the citizens of Lincoln to be aware of the upcoming increase on their renewal," said Stebbing. The city wheel tax on your renewal is set by the Lincoln City Council and those funds are distributed to the city of Lincoln monthly. “I am frequently asked about the wheel tax and want to be clear, the county treasurer has no part in deciding the city wheel tax rates.”
When you are ready to renew, the Lancaster County Treasurer encourages you to complete the process online. Click here for more information.
