A Lincoln City Council member is unhappy with how the city handles real estate transactions, calling it a "buy high, sell low" approach.
Councilman Jon Camp is especially unhappy with the purchase of an abandoned, fire-damaged house last spring.
The city paid $49,500 for the house, then another $7,000 to demolish the structure.
The council approved selling the house last week to the Lincoln Housing authority for $25,000. High school students will build a house on the lot.
Camp says taxpayers with the extra cost, but Urban Development Director David Landis says the transaction will help the neighborhood by replacing an eyesore.
