With just over a week to go until Election Day, many voting deadlines are looming. In Nebraska, the deadline to register was Friday and in Iowa the deadline was Saturday.
The election department at 6th and Willow was open Saturday so people could register or vote early. Like other counties in the area, election officials say they have seen a large number of people taking advantage of the early voting.
“It is fantastic, we are up to 17,000 voters,” said Pottawattamie County Auditor Marilyn Jo Drake. “We have 60,000 registered. So you see we are very fast approaching a third of our voters, have already come in or gone to one of our satellites that we have sponsored.”
