Since 1984 the Lincoln Crisis Pregnancy Center has been serving any and all who walk through their doors – day in and day out – assisting countless women and families who are faced with unplanned pregnancies.
In fact, in 2012 alone they served approximately 4300 clients, and expect to see an annual increase in clientele of roughly 10% in coming years. It is precisely because of that growth – along with the generous and continued support from the community – that the Crisis Pregnancy Center is proud to announce the grand opening of their new facility, which is located at 111 Piazza Terrace. The event will be held on August 29th, 2013, from 5pm-8pm.
This new location will have triple the space of their current office, providing for additional client and ultrasound rooms, areas for counseling and classes to take place, as well as a sizeable increase in capacity to house all of the gently used and graciously donated supplies that they’re able to provide to new parents. The slight change in their business name (now Crisis Pregnancy Center) is also a reflection of their growth and expansion, as their reach has expanded far beyond just the Lincoln area. In an effort to connect with as many individuals as possible, the Crisis Pregnancy Center has established a website for current and prospective clients (www.lincolncrisispregnancycenter.org), as well as a site for those looking to provide assistance and/or donations (supportlcpc.com). These online resources, combined with a 24-hour helpline, work to ensure that those seeking assistance are able to find what they’re looking for as easily as possible.
The Crisis Pregnancy Center’s Board of Directors includes a local obstetrician who provides medical oversight of their ultrasound program. Executive Director, Pat McCarthy, and Center Director, Kim McCarthy, work tirelessly alongside over 40 staff and volunteers to aide in the medical care, counseling, and education of their clientele. Not a politically affiliated organization, the Center prides itself on being able to provide a caring and educational atmosphere of hope, help, and healing to anyone seeking assistance and guidance.
