It happened during the 7 o’clock race when Nebraska State Racing Officials confirmed that Karlo Lopez fell off his horse named "Mexican Time" during the first turn of the race.
Witnesses said Lopez was trampled. Lopez was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in an ambulance.
The second injury happened to Jockey Bryan Houtan when he went off his horse at the end of the race. Houtan was also taken to the hospital -- the horse was taken in for observations.
The extent the jockeys’ injuries aren’t known at this time.
