Cass County is showing job improvement. According to the Nebraska Workforce Development Department of Labor report, the March 2014 unemployment rate in Cass County was 5.1 percent.
The March breakdown: Cass County civilian labor force 13,411, number employed 12,726, number unemployed 685.
The Cassgram reports the March rate was one-tenth of a percentage point lower than the February rate in Cass County. The rate was at 5.5 percent in January, 4.1 percent in December and 3.5 percent in November. The county unemployment was at 5.3 percent in March 2013.
Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for March was 3.7 percent, up one-tenth of a percentage point from February. The March 2013 state unemployment rate was 3.9 percent. The national unemployment rate in March 2014 was 6.7 percent, same as in February. The March 2013 national unemployment rate was 7.5 percent.
