The Gage County Sheriff’s Office says charges are pending against two inmates at the county detention center. The inmates fought each other after the two argued over a card game.

The inmates are identified as 23-year old Jon Johnson of Cortland, Nebraska and 18-year old Mitchel Hager of Holmesville, Nebraska. The fight broke out about 1pm Thursday, November 10.

Corrections officers separated the inmates and placed them in different holding cells.

Hager was in jail, serving a sentence for theft, obstructing a peace officer, zero tolerance violation, and minor in possession.

Johnson is awaiting sentence for a burglary conviction.
