The Old Skyline Golf Course, 217th and W. Center, was little more than a mosquito breeding ground two weeks ago. Since Mike McKnight's Fact Finders investigation, developers have made some significant improvements.
"It's looking a lot better, it's not a safety hazard anymore and no more bugs," said developer Mark Livingston.
Runoff from the adult and kiddie pools have been drained and repairs have been made to the dilapidated clubhouse.
Dan Livingston, another developer on the project, said, "We said we would enclose the place and we've done that. We've drained the pools and pumped them out, we've done that and we'll just keep progressing on."
But not everyone is so sure. A neighbor, with security expertise, said until the clubhouse is torn down it will always be a hazard.
"A number of us homeowners have done a very good job of being active or proactive as far as keeping kids out," said Tom Spethman.
Livingston told Channel 6 News Fact Finders the eyesore should be cleared out within 30 days to make room for a modern, new clubhouse and Pro Shop. The new facility will be open for tee times starting in June 2014.
