Husker fans were out and about before the bowl game.
Dan Winchester flocked to Husker Hounds for last minute big red gear.
“I’m staying home, just cashing in on a gift certificate, going to rally it up.”
Plenty of people made it out too. DJ’s Dugout on N. 114th Street was packed well before kickoff. Manager Chad King says they’ve stayed busy since the weekend.
“With a lot of the businesses doing their floating holiday, a lot of people are off work and able to come down today.”
DJ’s brought in extra help for the game, a new experience for Josie Clymer.
“This is my first game today so I'm pretty excited. I didn't think it'd get this busy but it’s getting packed fast.”
Tim Howard got here two hours early to make sure he got the best seat.
“They got all the games on I can watch,” says Howard.
“Huskers are my life.”
Some people even made it a family affair. Jim Howell brought his sons, an experience he says they cherish.
“They love it,” says Howard. “They were excited when they found out we were coming.”
Even though the game didn't go the way these fans wanted it, they still proved there is no place like Nebraska.
