Cass county continues a decade-plus trend of having the state’s 3rd highest estimated household income. Cass trailed only Sarpy and Washington counties on the county-by-county list.
The U.S. Census Bureau estimates the median household income for Nebraska was $48,415 annually. That’s according to the 2010 estimate report, the most recent analysis available. The national median household income was $50,046.
The median annual household income in Cass County that year was estimated at $59,392 (up from the 2009 estimate of $58,141). Cass trailed Sarpy County’s $69,401 and Washington County’s $65,554.
The 2010 estimates for other nearby counties: Douglas - $50,270, Lancaster - $50,197, Otoe - $48,980, Saunders - $55,070, Mills County (Iowa) - $57,359 and Fremont County (Iowa) - $47,513.
