Structure fire under investigation southwest of the metro.
The Greenwood Volunteer Fire Department was the first department paged about 9:30am Friday. Mutual aid help came from the Ashland, Waverly and Mead fire departments to the house fire at 15701 North 176th Street, which is near Greenwood Road about two miles west of the village of Greenwood.
No one was at home at the time of the fire.
The Cassgram reports there was extensive damage to the house which is in Lancaster County. There was damage to all three levels of the home. While the fire was reported under control within an hour, some fire units remained on scene until early afternoon.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
