The Cassgram reports investigators from Cass County are asking for assistance in identifying the responsible party and vehicle involved in a hit and run accident that occurred at 5:21pm on Thursday (2/24) at the intersection of Hwy 75 and Avenue B.
A northbound red 2007 Jeep Liberty registered to Tom and Joanne Kappas was approaching the intersection of Hwy 75 & Ave. B and was in a collision with a vehicle thought to be a gray late model Chrysler minivan driven by a male described as 6’ tall with an average build, possibly in his mid 40’s. The minivan, southbound on Hwy 75 failed to yield the right of way, turning from the southbound lane of Hwy 75 onto Ave B.
The two vehicles collided in the intersection with the minivan leaving the scene of a reportable property damage accident. The minivan should indicate damage to the passenger side. Tinted rear window glass was recovered at the scene.
