A man suspected of driving away from a collision near Steele City has been found dead after a rollover accident several miles away in southeast Nebraska.

Authorities say a Honda car with Oklahoma plates had gone out of control near the intersection of Nebraska Highways 8 and 99, south of Burchard, on Saturday evening. The driver was found dead. His name has not been released.

Deputies say his car had been involved in the earlier crash about 30 miles west, near Steele City.

Jefferson County authorities say the Honda hit another vehicle around 5:25 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Nebraska Highway 8
and state Spur 48-A. Witnesses say the Honda soon left the scene.

Four people in the other vehicle were treated at a Fairbury hospital and released.
