High Speed Drone Used To Film Omaha Country Club

More Video...

Dana Altman has traveled the world producing films and documentaries for his company North Sea Productions which is based in Omaha.

The U-S Golf Association called him with an unusual request.

"They said we need a video eternally," Altman explained in an interview with Channel 6 News.

The video would be used by the USGA to promote a major golf championship to be played at Omaha Country Club, The U-S Senior Open.

To make the video stand out, Altman used a high speed drone with an H-D camera to capture aerial shots from high above the fairways..

"For this we needed a fast one to get up and down the course or else we would never make it."

Not only did Altman rent the $25,000 drone, he hired a professional crew from around the country to fly the precision route that Altman planned in advance.

"It's pretty expensive to get that kind of crew together so you want to be efficient"

The result, a unique look at Omaha Country Club that is worthy of a major championship.

In summing up his experience Altman said, "They're really cool people, and the golfers are respectful of their position, and it's just pretty cool"

The US Senior Open is scheduled for July 11, 2013 through July 14, 2013 at Omaha Country Club.
