Gov. Dave Heineman plans to take his State of the State message to Nebraskans.
The Republican governor plans to visit North Platte, Kearney and Grand Island Thursday after he delivers his annual message to lawmakers. Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy will deliver remarks the same day in South Sioux City, Norfolk, Scottsbluff and McCook.
Heineman is scheduled to deliver the State of the State Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Capitol. He has said he wants to focus on job creation, education and making Nebraska a business-friendly place.
The speech will coincide with the introduction of the governor's mid-biennium budget recommendations.
