Residents of North Omaha were given a little help Monday afternoon in sorting through what the Affordable Health Care Act means to them.
Organizer Preston Love Jr. said, "Each person brings to the table a different set of variables for that act in terms of their income, and there are many many other factors. So the second thing for them to understand - the matrix and understand how they fit into the matrix."
Love said he was encouraged by the turnout.
The event was also used as a chance to raise awareness of other issues facing the community.
The goal of the event, held at Mr. Chef's near 24th and Lake, was to help participants understand the rules, deadlines, contacts and personal requirements of so-called Obamacare.
The organizers said it's about helping those who need to use the insurance plan best take advantage of what it has to offer.
