Head-On Crash Leaves One Dead

Authorities say a two-vehicle crash during blizzard-like conditions left one person dead and another injured Thursday morning.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the accident happened near the Gage County and Jefferson County line along U.S. Highway 136. Officials say strong winds created white-out conditions.

The head-on collision involved a sport utility vehicle driven by the victim and a pickup driven by 61-year-old Thomas Lohmeier of Hebron. Lohmeier was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim.
