A group of west Omaha hair stylists put down their combs to pick up over due pay checks. The Nebraska State Department of Labor delivered the checks last night to a salon where the stylists are working now.
10 Stylists had quit another salon in early December in a dispute over a change in pay from commission to chair rental. The owner of M. Constantino told Fact Finders that the sudden and mass resignation crippled her ability to pay final pay checks.
The stylists said they were owed a total of about $12,000 and claim final paychecks were a month over due causing the stylists financial hardships.
After Fact Finders contacted the former employer, final checks were sent to the state department of labor. The stylist said they can now pay their bills.
